What to Wear: Weekend Wardrobe
For a long time all my effort with my wardrobe went towards my workwear. But recently I’ve been giving it some more thought and finding pieces that are comfortable but still put-together for the weekend. I like having a slightly lighter touch for off-duty outfits – my workweek attire tends to be quite structured, it’s nice to soften things up with cozy knits and lace.
How do you approach weekend dressing?
Saturdays usually mean I take a long walk or hike with my dogs before breakfast, then make a run to the market to scoop up produce and flowers for the week. One of my favorite things to do Saturday morning is to read the Off Duty section of the Wall Street Journal. They always have fun recipes that often inform what I eat for lunch that day. For the fall, my go-to is a cozy sweater paired with the most comfortable t-shirt and dark, stretchy jeans.
When I’m home, I love going out in San Francisco or over to my friend Melissa’s house for dinner (she is the best spot in the city!). I love this lace top – it’s frilly and a bit sexy while still being comfortable. It’s easily paired with a blazer and fun faux leather pants.
What is a weekend without brunch? I adore Sunday brunch. It’s such a relaxing way to end the weekend and connect with friends and loved ones. Plus, as a morning person, I’m way more fun from 11 am to 1 pm than 11 pm – 1 am! This thick sweater is ideal for the cooler months and looks put-together paired with skinny jeans, my favorite (faux) leather jacket and peep-toe booties.
