What to Wear: the Big Presentation
A few weeks ago I had an event in Silicon Valley where I’d be addressing the group and introducing our VIP host. Work events can be some of the most difficult to dress for in my opinion – you need to look work-ish but not too stuffy. I chose this number by Kate Spade because I loved the structure of the pattern and cut of the dress that keep things serious but the splashes of color, along with my usual black and white, were really what spoke to me. Especially in Silicon Valley, it’s best not to color too much inside the lines. : )
Bonus: the dress pairs nicely with a blazer for those more formal times.
I loved this article in the New York Times from last spring about what to wear for a TED talk. Just goes to show how everyone who is going in front of an audience, no matter the size, needs to go through the exercise of figuring out what to wear and the message it will send. What would you wear if you were giving a TED talk or big presentation?
