Origins: My Power Pose
I believe that, no matter what you are doing in your life, be it a high-powered career or focusing on your family, how you present yourself to the world has a great impact on how you feel and how others perceive you. When you feel confident, you present the best version of yourself.
Over the past year, I found myself in a number of extremely stressful professional and personal situations and I didn’t know how to cope. My mother (love you, mom!) shared Amy Cuddy’s TED talk with me. Check it out here:
Taking two minutes to strike my power pose – in hallways, my office, bathroom stalls, etc – made all the difference in my ability to overcome each challenge that came my way. And it still does. I encourage every one of you to practice power posing before any situation where you want to ensure that you represent your best self!
Body language is an incredibly important part of how people perceive us. As is what you wear. This isn’t a fashion blog in that I either want to help you figure out how to “express” yourself wearing neon or whatever latest trend to the office, nor is it a fashion blog in that we’ll be looking at the runways in Milan and Paris. This is about real women who are serious about their lives and want to be outfitted appropriately, no matter the situation.
