NYFW: Pairing Basics with Statement Items
My strategy for fashion week was to wear almost all clothes I already owned and not run out to buy an entirely different wardrobe. This exercise showed me how many items I have in my work wardrobe that can be styled differently for a new setting. Each day I wore something that I’ve worn to the office.
For my third day at New York Fashion Week, I paired this incredible leather-top skirt gifted from Jenny – she wore the piece here – with a basic black turtleneck and tights. This is an outfit I could easily wear to the office – probably with simple ballet flats, but adding a statement clutch from Shanghai Tang and patent leather pumps (similar here) made the look fashion week ready.
