Casual Work Wear
One of my most formative – and favorite – bosses was known for his disapproval of casual Friday culture. The office is the office, even on Friday! I am in full agreement with this concept and my work also tends to call for more formal attire. However, there are times when the environment is more casual and total formality isn’t the best call. Living in Silicon Valley, it’s a topic that is constantly on my mind. Here, chances are you will appear much more culturally un-hip wearing a traditional suit than jeans and sneakers. More to come in this area for future posts!
This weekend I have a casual work function that has me in near 100 degree temperatures. Though I generally don’t believe in wearing blue jeans to the office, these white chino trousers strike the right balance of structure and comfort for the day when paired with a flowy silk blouse and more-comfortable-than-they-look platform sandals.
