A Day in Florence, Italy

I’m fresh back from a dreamy vacation in Italy. I spent much of the time in Modena (more here) and in Tropea (more here), but for my last day I took a solo trip to Florence. Just 1 hour by train from Modena, I was able to leave after breakfast and return in time for the evening aperitivo and dinner. Here’s what I chose to do during my visit…my day didn’t include any of the amazing galleries or revered artistic sights, which you should for sure check out if you visit…

Lunch at Trattoria Sostanza. Rustic, incredible fare. Clockwise from top: the kitchen staff of two; butter chicken and white beans with olive oil; the most magical artichoke omelette imaginable.
